About Us

Lifelong Grand Haven resident and businessman, Steve Vink, purchased the Tip-A-Few in 1979.  The building has had several names over the years.  Beginning as a waterfront hotel in 1874, it was later known as the "Chicken-Inn" and several other names before becoming the Tip-A-Few in 1945.

Situated along the Grand River in downtown Grand Haven, "TheTip," as it is known by locals, is steps from the historic downtown shopping district and a short stroll along the river to the shoreline of Lake Michigan.  Enjoy the beautiful walk along the river on Grand Haven's famous boardwalk and then enjoy dinner and drinks at the "Tip."  Abundant parking is adjacent to the restaurant, free Internet access and an assortment of Tip-A-Few apparel and novelties are available.

The Tip has long been known as the place to meet friends, enjoy great drinks and hang out.  Come see why the tavern is frequented by locals and sought out by visitors across the midwest!  Come for dinner...and then stay for a while.  Be sure to check out the scene in our photo gallery.  Enjoy.

Open every day, year 'round, except on Christmas Day!
